5 Reasons Why Shopping in Paris is a Dream

  1.  The Most Iconic Shopping District in Paris: Le Marais

Loved by locals and tourists alike, this world renown district is at the pinnacle of French fashion. Innumerable, rare and one-of-a-kind pieces by talented artisans lay in wait around every picture-worthy corner. You’re sure to find all you need to create iconic looks for living out your francophonic fantasies.

This cute little area is home to the hotels, art galleries & museums of one of the hippest art districts in the world.

2. The Most Sustainable Fashion Shops in Paris

In addition to the famous le Marais district, there are hidden gem fashion designers sprinkled all around the City of Lights. Fun fact: The City of Lights was so named, not for its many beautiful illuminations which decorate the city but instead for its many luminaries. The many brilliant minds contributing to the artistic landscape of the city. That tradition continues today in so many forms. Including, of course, in the works of gorgeous designers from all over the world.

Combining skill, style and innovation, forward thinking designers are plotting a course for the kinder future we all hope for. Many are making a splash on the design scene while remaining true to their ethical ideals.

Supporting boutique designers encourages a well curated wardrobe which cuts down on fast fashion. Fast fashion not only harms industry workers but is one of the largest polluters on Earth. So go ahead and feel good while shopping thoughtfully for distinct, sustainable Parisian style. Enjoy the comfort of knowing that you’re contributing to a healthier environment. C’est manifique!

3. Brocante (or Flea Markets): Parisian Vintage Luxury Shopping

Whether you are on the hunt for a completely unique piece or simply looking to take a leisurely stroll through the vintage luxury of a Springtime brocante (can you imagine the finds?!) you are sure to find tons of little treasures.

By the way, just In case you’re mapping out Instagrammable spots, a fun one is Les Puces de Saint-Ouen or Clignancourt Market which was featured in the iconic film Charade with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. She’s wearing her flawless Givenchy costumes - (which still slay to this day!) & Cary looks effortlessly dashing.

Speaking of effortlessly dashing men, I style men as well. & if you’re interested in a personal stylist to guide you through these gorgeous markets on a fabulous shopping spree, book a vintage shopping tour through Paris with me!

4.  La Vallée Village: Designer Outlet Shopping Near Paris

This outlet is truly a mini-shopping paradise and it’s less than an hour from Paris. There is a Bollicine Champagne Bar. (What more do you need?) They also have designer pop-up sales, and of course amazing deals on styles from the most incredible designers in the world.

It’s worth mentioning that while perusing the shops, you can trust that the garments for sale are directly from the fashion houses' most recent collections. Many other outlets (which shall remain nameless) sell items designed specifically for a factory outlet and often aren’t made with quality materials. Thankfully, at la Vallée Village you can enjoy shopping for genuine luxury pieces with a glass of champagne & peace of mind.

5.  First Ever Department Store: Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris

Built in 1852 it’s rich tradition has been thriving ever since. It’s actually the first department store in the world. Their founding motto is to “thrill all the senses” and they do not disappoint! They’re a patron of the arts and display both a permanent collection as well as host performing arts shows. Later this year they’ll host an after hours, masterfully artful circus - right between the perfume and designer bag aisles. C’est chic.
